Producer Information
Colombera & Garella is project of with Cristiano Garella, Alto Piemontese wine maker and leading consultant for a number of properties, with his long-time friend Giacomo Colombera, and Giacomo’s father, Carlo, who has been growing grapes in Bramaterra since the early 1990s. This property has quickly become one of the stars of alto piemonte, especially in the Lessona and Bramaterra growing areas. Vineyards are in the commune of Roasio, in the Alto Piemonte DOC of Coste della Sesia. Soils are high-acid, yellow porphyritic sand of volcanic origin, which lends mineral character and perfume to the wines. Natural farming, with only copper, sulfur, and natural fertilizer being added.
