Producer Information
Azienda Agriciola Brovia is a family wine estate founded in 1863, and located within the Barolo DOCG of Piedmont. All production comes from estate vineyards, and the estate has some of the best holdings in the region, with vineyard plots across Castiglione Falletto (in the Rocche and Villero crus) and the Garblèt Sue section of Bricco Fiasco, and a fourth in the Ca’Mia vineyard in Serralunga d’Alba. Each of these plots has its corresponding, single vineyard Barolo wine label. Together, these wines are the flagships of the estate. Brovia also makes a generic Barolo from fruit from both areas, and a Barbaresco from the Rio Sordo vineyard. The Nebbiolo line up is completed by the Valmaggiore Nebbiolo d’Alba from the vineyard of the same name in Vezza d’Alba. There are three Dolcetto d’Alba wines, two from the Ca’Mia vineyard and the third from across the estate. Finally, there are two Barbera d’Alba cuvées, one from Ca’Mia and the other from Garblèt. The winemaking is traditional, and wines are aged in Slavonian and French oak casks of around 3000 liters in size. Viticulture has been fully organic since 2010.
