Reviews:
- Wine Spectator: Blueberry, plum and blackberry fruit flavors lead the way here. Dense but fresh, laced with light violet and anise accents on the finish, all supported by grip and finely beaded acidity. Best from 2020 through 2029. Tasted twice, with consistent notes.
Producer Information
Silverado Vineyards is a winery located on the Silverado Trail in the Stags Leap District AVA of Napa Valley, California. Silverado’s key grape varieties are Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. There are also plantings of various other varieties including Merlot and Sangiovese. The business was established by the Millar family in 1981 and today has almost 160 hectares (400 acres) of vines. The land that formed the initial Silverado Vineyards estate was purchased by the Millar family eleven years earlier. Initially, the family sold their grapes to other wineries in the region, but realized the potential of the grapes grown on their land and decided to make and bottle their wines under the Silverado label. Throughout the 1980s and ’90s, the Millars purchased land in both Napa Valley and Carneros, adding the Firetree, Mt George and Soda Creek Canyon vineyards to their estate.
