Producer Information
Poliziano is a Tuscan wine estate based in the village of Montepulciano, which is particularly known for its Vino Nobile di Montalcino red wines. The estate is named after the Renaissance poet Angelo Ambrogini, who was also known by his nickname, Poliziano. The flagship wine of the Polizino portfolio is the Vino Nobile Montepulciano Vigna Asinone, sourced from a 14 hectare (35 acre) vineyard of the same name. It is usually produced with Sangiovese, but may feature a little Colorino and Merlot, depending on the vintage. Poliziano also produces a standard Vino Nobile di Montalcino, with a bit less time in barrel, a Rosso di Montepulciano, and an IGT Toscana, Le Stanze. Poliziano also owns the the 28 hectare (69 ac) Lohsa vineyard on the Tuscan coast, where it makes a range of wines under the Terre del Poliziano banner. This label includes a Morellino di Scansano and a Bordeaux-style blend from the Maremma.
