“Maxima” is the great reserve of Cascina Colombo, a pure Pinot Noir produced only in the best vintages. Refines 18 months in oak barrels and a further 15 months in bottle. The bouquet is broad and complex, with notes of small red fruits accompanied by spicy and toasted and elegant hints. On the palate it is structured, with a dense but velvety tannin and an enveloping freshness. Sapid and mineral notes close the sip with a long persistence. A wine with great evolutionary potential that will reach its peak in the next few years.
Producer Information
Since 2004 Colombo has established a deep and introspective bond with the land and the countryside, creating a recognizable and appreciated identity in Italy and abroad. With competence and sensitivity, the Colombo family and the oenologist Riccardo Cotarella work to enhance the nuances that the soil can give, obtaining the highest working standards. The result is a wine that perfectly conveys the identity of the Langa Astigiana area. A nucleus around which the different and complementary forces of men and nature revolve, in a cyclical nature that follows the very long times of the geological formation of the soil and the very short times of cellular reactions, through the return of the seasons, the rising and setting of the sun, of the moon and the stars.
