Description
Red Wine: 2014 | Domaine Clos de la Chapelle | Pommard 1er Cru Les Chanlins Vieille Vignes
A lean, sinewy style, evoking a base of minerality and spicy oak to elevate the berry and currant fruit. Tense and peppery, this finds equilibrium on the long finish.

Reviews:
- James Suckling: A much more deeply pitched nose is comprised by notes of violet, plum, black cherry and discreet floral hints. There is excellent volume to the suave and very rounded medium weight flavors that also exude a fine bead of minerality onto the dusty, persistent and mildly austere finish. This velvety effort should drink reasonably well after only 5 years and reward up to a decade of cellar time.
Producer Information
Domaine Clos de la Chapelle is a wine estate in the Volnay appellation of Burgundy. The domaine is made up exclusively of a small number of grand cru and premier cru vineyards in the Côte de Beaune. The Clos de la Chapelle Monopole not only provides the namesake wine for the domaine group but is also one of the flagship vineyards producing Premier Cru Volnay reds from Pinot Noir grapes. The domaine also has premier cru sites in Pommard, Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses and grand cru sites in Corton. The domaine is certified organic and follows biodynamic farming practices. The history of the estate dates back centuries, but was not known as Clos de la Chapelle until 1937.
