Benziger Family Winery is a wine producer based in the Sonoma Mountain AVA (American Viticultural Area). Benziger produces a wine portfolio from a range of classic California varieties, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. The estate property covers 14 hectares (35 acres) of vines in volcanic, clay, and loam soils. The vineyards are dry-farmed and planted to the five red Bordeaux varieties, Sauvignon Blanc, and Zinfandel. Mike Benziger began transitioning the estate from conventional to biodynamic farming in the 1990s and released the first certified biodynamic wine, the winery’s flagship Tribute, in 2001. Benziger Family Winery’s wine portfolio is made up of a range of varietal wines and blends. It includes the Appellation Series, Estate and the De Coelo which is sourced from a property on the Sonoma Coast. Benziger owns or has long-term leases on vineyards in many AVAs throughout Sonoma County including Sonoma Valley, Russian River Valley, Pine Mountain-Cloverdale Peak, and Carneros.
