Producer Information
Château Capbern is a Cru Bourgeois wine estate in the Saint-Estèphe region of Bordeaux. It produces a red wine of good structure, easily capable of aging 10 to 20 years in good vintages. The wine typically has around 55 to 70 percent Cabernet Sauvignon and 25 to 40 percent Merlot. Small amounts of Cabernet Franc (in some vintages) and Petit Verdot complete the blend. The estate had been in the ownership of the Gasqueton family for ten generations, and was previously called Capbern Gasqueton. In 2012 it was sold alongside Calon-Ségur to the French insurance company Suravenir, who dropped the second part of the name from the 2013 vintage.
