Distillery Information
Quady Winery, established by husband-and-wife team Andrew and Laurel Quady, is a wine producer based in Madera, California, specialising in sweet and fortified dessert wines and vermouths. The winery was established in Madera, in the San Joaquin Valley (part of the wider Central Valley), some 23 miles (37km) due northwest of Fresno. The Quadys had moved there following Andrew Quady’s retraining as a winemaker in the mid-1970s (he was previously in the pyrotechnics industry). Quady is known for its sweet, sparkling Moscato d’Asti-style wines produced from a range of regionally-sourced Muscat varieties, as well as a range of fortified wines, aping Port, Sherry and vin doux naturel styles. A vermouth is also produced. A smaller range of dry red, white and rosé wines are also made under the Quady North brand.
