Bacon-laced black raspberries make up the aromatic profile of the 2002 Syrah… Big, muscular, and backward, it reveals flavors reminiscent of freshly laid road tar, bacon, jammy blackberries, and cassis. Deep, dense, and chunky, this wine has a compressed, firmly tannic finish.
Producer Information
In 1998, Lynn and Ron Penner-Ash founded Penner-Ash Wine Cellars in the Northern Willamette Valley’s Yamhill-Carlton AVA. Bringing to life their shared vision, through years of hard work unyielding commitment, the pair built a reputation for lush, layered Pinot Noir, and community leadership throughout the valley.Lynn and Ron paid special attention when designing the winery to ensure all elements including space, light, and equipment, were optimized to support human ergonomics. The discovery of unanticipated soil diversity on the Estate property by an early geologist’s survey provided further excitement for the potential of this special site. After breaking ground in 2003, the winery was barely completed when the Kick Ash Crew used the facility to process our first vintage on site in 2005.
