Producer Information
Maison Roche de Bellene is a Beaune-based négociant firm set up by well-known Burgundian winemaker Nicolas Potel with an emphasis on producing wines made from fruit or wines from individual terroirs with old vines. The business was established in 2009 by Nicolas Potel, alongside his Domaine de Bellene, which produces wines from estate-owned vineyards. Potel works with growers from across the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits to produce a broad selection of Burgundian Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines from village, premier cru, and grand cru sites. Grapes are sourced from top estates with many of the growers farming by organic methods. The impressive range of wines produced includes most of Burgundy’s grand cru sites, including Clos de la Roche, to Clos de Vougeot, Montrachet, and Chambertin. Around a dozen premier cru wines are produced as well as “vieilles vignes” (old vines) village wines made with grapes from vines more than 40 years old.
