Producer Information
Ravenswood Winery is a Californian wine producer, located in Sonoma County in the foothills of the Mayacamas Mountains. It was founded by Joel Peterson in 1976, and is now known for its robust, full-bodied single-vineyard Zinfandel – in keeping with the company’s motto of ‘no wimpy wines’. As well as Zinfandel, Ravenswood also produces wine from a large collection of varieties including Petite Sirah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan, Merlot and Chardonnay. The Single Vineyard collection is produced to reflect the terroir of which the grapes were sourced. Vineyards are located in multiple AVAs (American Viticultural Area) including Napa, Sonoma and Alexander Valley. Ravenswood also makes a range called County Series, made from fruit sourced from around California, and the entry-level Vintners Blend wines, which have been produced since the mid-1980s.
