“Glengoyne’s story begins in 1833 as Burnfoot Distillery, known for its unpeated spirit and unique Highland location with Lowland warehouses, leading to clever tax avoidance; it became Glengoyne (Valley of the Wild Geese) in 1905, grew under Lang Brothers, and was sold to Ian Macleod Distillers in 2003, who transformed it into a renowned single malt brand and popular tourist spot, emphasizing unhurried, air-dried, slow distillation for its distinctively fruity, gentle whiskies.”
