Pendergast’s Royal Gold bourbon is named for political crime boss “King Tom” Pendergast, who sold his illegal bourbon under his own Royal Gold label after smuggling it in. The bourbon is aged in new charred oak but finished in port wine casks, a practice commonly seen in the scotch world but less often in the bourbon world. It will give the bourbon a distinctive color and flavor.

Nose: This small-batch Bourbon, finished in port casks, has a honey hue and caramel scent.
Palate: The flavor is rich and bold, loaded with caramel and pleasing to sip, finishing with a burst of sweet spice and oak.

Distillery Information
Tom’s Town Distilling Company is located in Kansas City, Missouri and named for Tom Pendergast… reputed to be a famous underworld scofflaw of Prohibition. The distillery regards itself as the first legal operation since Prohibition founded by David Epstein and Steve Revare.
