To honour Strathern’s distinctive flavour profile and the time invested in crafting its rich spirit, Batch 02 has been created with the same careful cask selection as its predecessor (bourbon, virgin oak and sherry oak). However, this time there is a greater influence from the bourbon cask. This presents a more rounded Strathern, enhancing its natural creaminess, freshness and overall balance.

Distillery Information

(Stra-thurn) Strathearn Distillery, one of Scotland’s smallest, is known for producing one of the country’s most distinctive malts. Acquired by family-owned bottler Douglas Laing in October 2019, Strathearn is located in the village of Methven, near Crieff in Highland Perthshire—a region steeped in whisky heritage. Strathearn’s Highland single malt is crafted in small batches using Maris Otter malt, a rare grain that yields a creamy, malty spirit. The whisky is slowly distilled in one of Scotland’s smallest setups, with spirit cuts determined by taste. Aged in first-fill bourbon, wine, port, and sherry casks, each expression is bottled without coloring or chill-filtration. Strathearn also offers its new-make spirit, providing a glimpse into the whisky’s foundation.
