Producer Information
Salvestrin Estate is a Napa Valley wine producer. The estate is considered as one of region’s most historic with the property cultivated with grapevines since 1858. George Belden Crane established the estate in the 1800s although it wasn’t untill 1932 that it was purchased by the Salvestrin family. Emma and John Salvestrin were Italian immigrants who fell in love with surrounding St Helena. The Dr. Crane vineyard is named in commemoration of the founder. Today, the third generation of the Salvestrin family cultivate 19 acres of the remaining 50-acre Dr. Crane vineyard. Vineyard management is based on organic farming principles with minimal intervention applied when possible. The Salvestrin wine portfolio heavily features wines sourced from the Dr. Crane Vineyard. The Three D is a Cabernet blend whilst the Retaggio is a Tuscan style blend with Sangiovese, Merlot, and Cabernet. A varietal Sangiovese is also produced from the plot whilst a sole Sauvignon Blanc from Crystal Spring vineyard completes the white wine line-up.
