Amate tequilas were created by Juan Carlos Jimninez Ahedo and Carlos Monsalve Agraz, who still claim to “personally taste and approve every single production batch of Amate…” They use traditional clay ovens to bake the agave and use what they call a “natural aerobic fermentation process” to create a distinctive taste. It is produced by La Cofradia–one of the larger tequlia producers–and owned by the Tequila Amate company.

Amate Silver Tequila Tasting Notes

Nose: The fragrance is zesty and lemony.

Palate: On the palate, dried herbs, juicy florals, and green pepper come forward, plus a trace of vegetal savoriness.

Finish: Finishes light, with lively lemon zest. It’s mouthwatering, with moderate alcohol feel.
