Released in September 2015 “in strictly limited quantities”, this single grain whisky was distilled at the Port Dundas Distillery, Glasgow, which closed in 2010.

While single grain whisky produced at Port Dundas has been used in third-party bottlings such as Douglas Laing’s Old Particular range, this is the first distillery bottling, outside of Diageo’s Special Releases. An 18 year old Port Dundas was also released alongside this 12 year old.
Port Dundas 12 Year Old Single Grain Scotch Whisky Tasting Notes
Nose: Baguette crust, sandalwood, dark honey, milk chocolate, floral honeysuckle, eucalyptus and nutty wood varnish.
Palate: Nutty wood varnish, sandalwood, milk chocolate, window putty and dry Madeira wine.
Finish: Dry woody, popcorn and resinous oily tobacco leaf finish.
Distillery Information
Port Dundas. Built in 1811 at the highest point in the city of Glasgow, at its peak Port Dundas was the largest distillery in Scotland, termed the blending powerhouse of Scotland. The distillery was one of the founding members of the grain distillers’ conglomerate DCL.
